What is the Denominational Exploration Team?
This group of people was nominated by our Leadership Team members. The goal of this team is to spend focused and intentional time praying and thinking about a specific set of decisions that need to be made for our church. Like many denominations around us, the Reformed Church of America (RCA) is changing. They are considering restructuring and there are both small and large-scale changes that could impact our church. This team would do several things: (1) research what is happening in our denomination, (2) research other denominations and groups of churches that have formed, (3) make a recommendation about whether our church should stay with the RCA or go somewhere else, and if so, where; (4) communicate with the church body about the discernment process and its results. This team would hopefully present information at the Annual Meeting in November.
